I visited this website. It talks about Pogroms in different areas of the world. I focused on the one in India. Check it out.
India: Happened in 1984. Sikh places of worship were sought to be destroyed. In the Pogrom there were two phases to the operation. The first phase was to spread false propaganda against the Sikhs. The second phase was too bring groups of armed men to at least ten different sections of New Dehli. Police stood on the sideline and watched and drove around in jeeps and spread false propaganda. Many men were killed and women were gang raped and killed.

This is a great form of witch hunt. Peoples churches and lives were destroyed and ruined beacause of what type of religion they practiced. I cant believe people could be so cruel.
Very brutal and sad...good example of a witch hunt though. The fact that the police spread false propoganda is just rediculous. (much like the support from the judges in the Salem witch trials in "The Crucible") There was a phrase that I thought stood out. It said the police wanted others to fear the Sikhs, which is why they spread the false propoganda...thus starting the witch hunt. It's sad becuase people just wanted to practice their own religion...makes you appreciate what we have here in our country.
This, to me, was pretty bad. I believe that it was a type of witch hunt. I can't believe the law would spread false things about other people. They should have been stopped early.
This witch hunt is pretty riduculous. It's a wonder that people are spreading this false propaganda and instigating this witch hunt but not much action has been put forth to stop it.

Another great example of a witch hunt dealing with religion. No matter how wrong or messed up people believe a religion is, they should not be allowed to discriminate against it. People should be free to practice whatever religion they choose.
defecating on books? did anybody else catch that? kill, rape, and... defecate? that is so messed up. Its horrible that governments allow things like this to happen. Grea example of a witch hunt, contains all elements. Reading that was gruesome, I can't imagine living through it.
Religion must pretty much start all witch hunts. I always knew that the police were crooked cops and no one will step up and say anything because it is the police. Good example.

This is a type of a witch hunt. It’s really horrible that the police were helping kill the Sikhs and spreading false rumors. People should be able to believe in what they want to and not live in fear.

An inside job is disgusting. First, they demean people's religion and way of life, then kill them and get socially rewarded because of the propaganda they spewed in the first place?!? It's a witch hunt to be rivaled, but I hope that karma is as lucrative to abusers as they were to the pogorms.
